The Genre of rock all have similar concepts in their songs. This is that the main focus throughout the song is to be based on the band and that any storyline in this song is to be based around the band too. This is mainly down to the fact that the band is passionate about their song and it will look better than trying to make a storyline out of the lyrics.

There are some songs that break this stereotype and have a storyline going through the song but still show the band members in the video. A good example of this would be ‘In too deep’ by Sum41. This is because they incorporate an abstract storyline in their video but also show themselves to promote their band. This is the sort of music video we are going to go for with scenes cutting from Narrative structure to performance structure.
